NEWS UPDATE: MYSTERIOUS BREAKFAST CEREAL FOUND IN CRATE

News lucky 1 v1

Friday, January 14, 2005 — The Millsberry Gazette has learned more about the mysterious wooden crate that was discovered by Millsberry Academy students Rusty Carrigan and Amy James while on a nature hike in the woods near Peabody Park last week. As indicated in last week's story, the crate was carefully transported to the laboratory classroom at the Academy, where, under the observant supervision of science instructor Mr. Fort, students and professional scientists alike tried to identify its unique and interesting contents.

"Once we had the crate in the laboratory, we were able to break the lock open with the aid of a crowbar," Mr. Fort explained. "However, our initial examination has only increased the number of questions we have. For example, who placed the chest in the woods? Why was it secured under such a heavy lock? And, lastly, what specifically is in the box? Our preliminary tests have shown that it is a whole grain cereal, but that's all we know so far."

Some of the students, many of whom are top achievers in Mr. Fort's classes, seemed to have a better idea. "Well, while the scientists were debating what kind of additional tests should be conducted, I thought it looked so delicious that a friend and I reached in and grabbed a handful of the contents from the chest. We'd agreed with the initial results that it looked and smelled a lot like breakfast cereal, so we went ahead and ate a bit of it," Rand Allen confessed. "Sure enough, it was sweet and crunchy, just the best cereal ever! It also contains very tasty, colorful marshmallow bits, but yet it's unlike any cereal we've ever tasted? it's quite remarkable! We're hoping whoever left it in the woods will deliver more soon!"

The Millsberry Gazette was also allowed to examine the contents of the chest, and it appears that the students are quite correct. The chest is filled to the top with what looks and tastes like a great chocolatey cereal; however, it also contains marshmallow bits in differing colors and shapes! Whatever it is, it is certainly new and different, and will likely be very popular with kids and adults alike!

While further testing is yet to be conducted, this is one reporter who would certainly be interested in tracking down where this delicious new cereal came from, and finding out how to get more!
